ZZ Top is an American rock band, formed in 1969 in Houston, Texas. Consisting of Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill, and Frank Beard, ZZ Top is the longest running band that still consists of all of it's original members. Known as one of the best blues guitarists in the world, Billy Gibbons created ZZ Top as a blues rock band. This has essentially been their sound since they've been together, although they did include some distinctive synth-pop elements in the 80s. ZZ Top played their first show in February 1970, and toured Texas relentlessly for several years. They built up a huge and dedicated following that meant their third album sold over a million copies and featured a classic song of theirs "La Grange". ZZ Top were soon drawing crowds of tens of thousands of people to their shows in Texas, and they soon became worldwide superstars. They can still pack arenas around the world, and ZZ Top show no sign of slowing down.
