Rapper Ice-T's heavy metal group released its first album in 1992 with the music mainly written by the other surviving member of the band Ernie C. Ice-T stated that "When we initially came out, my agenda was not to be a rap/rock band. My agenda was to redefine hardcore metal". The second album included the notorious song 'Cop Killer' that was eventually removed from the album. The final album Violent Demise was released in 1997 to good reviews but unimpressive sales. The band revived in 2005 and has since continued touring.
