Miles Davis

Miles Davis was one of the greatest visionaries and most important figures in jazz history. After playing with Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie, he developed a more subtle, yet still challenging style that became known as "cool jazz." His most famous album, 'Kind of Blue' was released in 1959 and sold over 3 million copies. His later, electric album. 'Bitches Brew' released in 1970 rejected traditional jazz rhythms for a looser rock influenced improvisational style. Davis died in 1991.
