The UK industry's annual award show for artist excellence. The event
showcases the best of new British talent alongside the biggest international
names. The Brits has taken place every year for the past ten years,
growing larger in stature every time. The show always attracts an enormous
amount of press, out-spoken artists, scandalous protests and the unique
"Brits Duet" - a one-off and often surprising pairing of music
stars, such as Jamiriquai with Anastacia and Kylie Minogue with Justin
Timberlake. Past BRIT Awards shows have boasted the talents of artists
such as Coldplay, Destiny's Child, Eminem, Westlife, Craig David, Gorillaz,
Dido, The Strokes, So Solid Crew, Mis-Teeq, Sting, Blue, David Gray,
Pink, Ms Dynamite, Sugababes, Avril Lavigne and the legendary Tom Jones.
This year's show includes performances from Duran Duran, Dido, The Darkness,
The Black Eyed Peas, 50 cent and a diva special with Missy Elliot, Alicia
Keys and Gwen Stefani.
