Three
of The Cure's most admired and influential albums Pornography, Disintegration
and Bloodflowers, performed live in front of sell-out crowds over two
memorable nights in the Tempodrom Berlin November 2002. When Robert
Smith recorded the Bloodflowers album in 1999, he envisaged it as the
final part of a "Dark Trilogy". "I had the idea of taking
the Trilogy to it's logical conclusion during The Cure's worldwide Dreamtour
2000; we should play all three albums live in one night and make a film
It wasn't until Summer 2002 that I suggested the Trilogy show idea to
the other in the band, and at first they were a bit skeptical - but
once we had go into rehearsals it became apparent that it was really
going to work
and it did! This particular live event was always
an ambitious idea, and it took a lot of mental and physical preparation;
but the end result has bee more than worth it. For me the realization
of the Trilogy show is not only the fulfillment of a dream, but also
a tribute to this band line-up; the most dynamic, the most subtle, and
the most powerful
certainly the best Cure I've ever played in."
